Specialty Services Colleton Medical Center Skilled Care Unit
Services offered to for our patients include, Nursing Care, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Patient/Family Teaching, Diagnostic Services, Activities Program and Social Services. Our medical coverage is provided by a physician on the Medical Staff of Colleton Medical Center. The Rehab Unit The rehabilitation of a patient is an interdisciplinary process with the goal of returning the patient to the highest level of independence possible. The interdisciplinary team consists of the patient, his attending physician, a physiatrist (a rehabilitation physician), nurses, occupational therapists, physicial therapists, social worker, and speech therapist. The patient's family and friends are always a part of the TEAM! We offer physical rehabilitation for a number of different problems and disease processes: strokes, joint replacement, neurological diseases, orthopedic problems, arthritis, respiratory problems.

The Skilled Care Unit is designed to meet the needs of a patient who needs skilled service on a daily basis after the acute phase of his illness has passed. This service could be physical therapy, dressing changes to wounds, or intravenous medications.|
