First – thank you for all you do for our community during moments like this.
We deeply appreciate that throughout this weather event, while others were evacuating, you stayed behind to help your community. As you get back to your homes, if you find issues that we could help with, please let your HR Director know so that we can help and please remember the HCA Hope Fund is here to help: HCAHopeFund.com.
The hospital will operate throughout and all scheduled staff should prepare to stay in house as needed through the storm. If you are not scheduled to work but are willing to help, please contact your director.
For those coming in:
Please check the evacuation routes at scemd.org that may impact your own travel to work. We want you to leave enough time to travel safely.
Early on, we’ve had some issues with staff and physicians trying to drive into the hospitals/ERs for work. After discussion with the Highway Patrol communications center, we’ve received this guidance:
Approach the officer with your window rolled down and tell them you are a hospital worker. You can identify yourself with your hospital badge. You may also want to use your driver’s license to confirm your identity.
If you have a hospital worker placard, please place hang this from your mirror or place it on your front dash to identify who you are. If you don’t have a placard, we will be working Thursday to make these available to you.
Please contact your director with department-specific questions.
