Colleton Medical Center Announces Departure of CEO

After 25 years of faithful service to Colleton Medical Center and the greater Walterboro community, CEO, Jimmy Hiott announced on Tuesday, April 1 he will be transitioning to a new position within the HCA Healthcare South Atlantic Division at the end of the month.

During his tenor at Colleton Medical Center Jimmy, a Walterboro native, has held many roles including, Assistant Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Executive Officer, a position he has held for eight years.

"Jimmy has been a valued leader at Colleton Medical Center for more than 25 years," said Hugh C. Tappan, President of HCA Healthcare’s South Atlantic Division. "Jimmy will be deeply missed at the hospital and in the Walterboro community. I'm excited he will continue to be a member of the HCA Healthcare team, and I want to thank him for all he's done to grow Colleton Medical Center.”

“Serving as the CEO at Colleton Medical Center has been the privilege of a lifetime. Team Colleton is exceptional. I am humbled to have played a role in the success of this incredible team,” said Hiott. “As this chapter ends I am happy to remain with the HCA Healthcare family where I will serve the Myrtle Beach community as the Market Director of Physician Services.”

Jimmy will remain in the CEO role through April. A replacement has not been named.
