Colleton Medical Center
January 04, 2022

Due to the continued rise in COVID-19 positive cases in our community, Colleton Medical Center announces a change to the patient visitation guidelines. Beginning, Wednesday, January 5, patient visitation hours will be 6:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Monday – Friday, and 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, on weekends and holidays.

During the above-mentioned times, non-COVID-19 patients may have one visitor, age 18 or older. If multiple visitors arrive at the same time, the additional visitors are asked to wait in their vehicle for their opportunity to visit with the patient.

Virtual visitations will remain available for COVID-19 patients. Visitors must check-in at the Main Entrance and wear a mask at all times while inside the facility.

Special arrangements will be made on a case-by-case basis for End of Life visitations.

Labor and Delivery patients may have one visitor during delivery and two visitors during normal visitation hours, otherwise.

Individuals receiving outpatient care may be accompanied by one visitor during their care.

Visitation hours for Behavioral Health patients will be 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM, Monday – Friday, and 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM on weekends. Each Behavioral Health patient may have one designated visitor during the above times. The visitor must provide the patient’s name and corresponding 4-digit code.

Emergency Department patients may have one visitor throughout their stay in the Emergency Department. If the patient is admitted, visitors should follow the above-mentioned visitation guidelines.

“With the number of positive COVID-19 cases expected to increase throughout the coming weeks it is imperative that we make changes to our visitation policy to help protect our patients, employees, and community,” said Jimmy Hiott, Colleton Medical Center CEO. “I am happy that we were able to extend our visitation policy during the holidays, but given the rise in case numbers we must now revert to the COVID-19 visitation policy for the safety of our patients and staff.”

Colleton Medical Center is not a COVID-19 vaccine or testing site. Those who would like to receive a COVID-19 vaccine are asked to visit- https://vaxlocator.dhec.sc.gov/ to locate the closest facility.
