For the second consecutive time, Colleton Medical Center has received an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. This national designation recognizes Colleton Medical Center’s achievements in protecting patients from harm by providing safe healthcare services.

"The “A” Hospital Safety Grade recognizes Colleton Medical Center’s continued commitment to patient safety,” said Jimmy Hiott, Colleton Medical Center CEO. This honor highlights the pride our team takes in providing the highest quality of care to our patients. As a result, our community knows that should the unexpected happen, one of the safest hospitals in our area is here to care for them.”

Colleton Medical Center VP of Quality, Libbi Myers echoed Hiott’s remarks adding, “Earning consecutive A ratings is evidence of the compassionate patient-centered care we provide at Colleton Medical Center.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is an elite designation from the Leapfrog Group, a national independent watchdog that sets the highest standards for patient safety. The group assigns an A, B, C, D, or F grade to hospitals based on 30+ national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents, and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
