The Excellence in Nursing Award was created in 2014 to recognize the intrinsic value of the nursing practice in accomplishing our goal of providing the highest quality of care to the patients we serve. The award recognizes HCA Healthcare nurses who excel in the categories of Compassionate Care and Professional Mentoring.

The Excellence in Nursing – Compassionate Care Award was presented to Bonnie Priester, Inpatient Wound Care Nurse. Bonnie consistently goes above and beyond – not just for her own patients, but for anyone in need. Her actions reflect a deep commitment to excellence and a genuine love for caregiving. She is the very definition of “care like family” for both patients and staff alike.

The Excellence in Nursing – Professional Mentoring Award was presented to Blaire Stanfield, Director of Infection Prevention. Blaire has established excellent rapport with the physicians, gained trust with the nursing staff and set the example for all hospital staff by helping to lead the charge in keeping our patients safe.

Each year the awards of distinction ceremony serves as a humble reminder of the impact each of us can make by serving others with an open and compassionate heart,” said John Tully, VP of Operations. “Like Dr. Frist, our award recipients embrace the value of the human spirit as evident by their unwavering commitment to service above self.”
